Looked at all the free DAfonts site. Loaded many fonts,no problem.

A lot of the fonts seamed 2 load fine, then at the end of converting it would say Can't Write Softfont.

I'm working in Gerber Omega 3.0

Anyone,know of a work-around 2 load Softfonts?

Thank U, Kent Moss

There are two kinds of fonts as far as windows goes,... resident fonts which are built into a printer and soft fonts which are the type you have to install(true type/open face/postscript etc,...)How omega utilizes these fonts is another problem all in itself as from what I understand gerber has its own proprietory conversion processes for these type fonts.Sounds like a problem for gerber support to me,....Does omega support open face fonts as they are a new font type format? If not there are open face converters available on the web,all you need to do is a search.(open face to true type converter)

Omega has a font converter feature... launch it , find the font on your PC, convert it... then your good to go.. This works with most fonts... not sure about "soft fonts".. I hope this helps

If I understand correctly, you were able to convert some of the fonts, but not all of them. The current Omega software can convert TrueType and OpenType fonts, so if you are getting errors, I would suspect a problem with the fonts themselves.

Free fonts are put together without a lot of attention to detail. There could be errors in the fonts that cause the conversion process to fail.

My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone.

Kent, if you email me the failing fonts I will see what I can find. There are sections within the TTF/OF they we look for for conversion processing, maybe this info is not there as Russ pointed out.
