The threads on the wacoms and especially the cintiq are pretty exciting, but I can't afford one now, and that's that. Good to see the prices coming within range for me, though. By the time I can afford one there will be no question about how they work and exactly what size and features I want.
I think this should work faster than mousing. The CorelDraw tools for bezier drawing should work like a dream with this. Node editing should be a dream, too. So how come I never saw any graphics/sign folks using touch screens?

Shoulder fatigue over the period of a half an hour is an issue...in addition your hand is always covering the point that you are trying to edit.
IMHO, the Intuos4 bluetooth wireless tablet would be more fun.

I guess you could mount the monitor in the table so your work is done at desk level rather than having to have your hand up in the air all the time.
Or put it in your lap. I use my tablet in my lap some when doing a lot of detail work and my hand doesn't get as tired.

Thats were the Cintiq is a really nice design. A gentle pull of one of two locking levers on the back of the unit and you can tilt it down or back up, as it will lock into several positions just like a drafting table.
Providing you are seated up above it properly your arm can be gently resting on the unit comfortably.
If you have not watched the video on Wacoms site for the new Cintiq, check it out!

Thanks guys, the touch screen is going on my wish list, the short one. Shoulder fatigue, eh? Hopefully that'll turn into a muscle or two, or else the screen will become horizontalified. The challenge of seeing through my hand is potentially solvable, too, hopefully with some kind of fingertip stylus.
I'm just surprised more graphics people don't use add-on touch screens. It should work for me because I'm a drawer at heart and after 20 years of using trackballs & mice, it's about time to try something more natural.
