Here it is, if I don't make it official it will never happen !
I had the pleasure of holding a first worshop a little over a year ago, near Montreal, in French and it was a great success. Attendance was beyond expectation as the class filled up in the smaller Quebec market. I had such positive feed-back and requests that an other workshop got planned out, this time in English, so opened to a much wider market.
This time around, my long time and dear friend Noella Cotnam from Sign-It will be giving me a hand by being a guest speaker on sign business in general.
The workshop in near Montreal in the Quebec sales office of AXYZ International for my shop is way too small to hold the workshop there. They have a perfect sized conference room, work area, brand new machines to work on and on site CNC technician that can and will answer all questions for anyone wanting to learn more about routing and 3D signage.
The dates are April 23-24-25, 2010 and coming fast !
Places are limited and with the economy starting to pick up, the time is perfect to get the tools needed to get into this more lucrative market.

This looks interesting to me, and I can drive to it a big plus. I thought about attending the last one but my french is limited to counting to 10.

Actually Ray, you might have something there! This could be the next wave of workshops, instead of moving 10 people to one shop, you bring in the speaker.
In a given area like Texas or Florida (specially in winter...) if 4 or 5 companies get together and send in on or two people, you got a class of 8-12 and we're good to go!
Of course, one has to serve as the host, wich means a work area, class area, eating area, proper facilities and some supplies.
I would like some feed back if there is interest at all for this kind of travelling show...
thanks
And Jake, I would be nice to have you here, please confirm ASAP!

That is what David and Susie Butler do with their workshop. I hosted one in Texas, but the Butlers did all the work...actually, all I did was attend.
Unfortantly, all the folks that said they would be there didn't show up and the Butlers came anyway, but didn't make anything off the trip.
We had a great time, though.

Got yer phone call. On phone right now with web hosting company, trying to figure out why some messages bounce and others don't. The spam comes through just fine! What doesn't come through is the message from the web server saying the account is almost full--their spam filter pulls out their own message.
When Rene hosted his first workshop in French, I thought how much I'd like to be there and actually understand him. As good a teacher as he is in "funny English", it would be awesome to hear him in his native tongue, which is probably "funny French".
Rene knows his stuff well and helped me greatly with an EnRoute project at Dan's a while back. Any who go to this workshop will really get their money's worth.

We're a month away from the event that is scheduled for the week-end of April 23-24-25. Although I have a few reserved seats, I'm not sure yet it's enough to make it worth my while, after all, I'm not a full time teacher and I don't even budget these events into my year!
I will be making a decision by Friday if the event is going to happen or not. Should anyone be interested, please contact me via e-mail or on my cell phone at 613-262-4243. I will be spending the next few days in Cornwall at Sign-it Signs, Noella asked for help to beat a deadline on a big job, I can also be reached there...
