I thought I would jump in and point out some of the differences in the X5 color management.
1. Color profiles - We use more standard color profiles and include them with the suite, like Adobe 1998 rgb profile, sRGB, ECI printer profiles, and the like.
2. Exported files now contain the color profile that was used to create the document. Previous versions of CorelDRAW never included a color profile so the RIP would not know what the colors were supposed to look like
3. RGB colors are now supported for Vector and bitmap objects in EPS, PDF and printing to EPS based printer..in X4 vector objects would be converted to CMYK resulting in muted colors
..the list goes on and on, but I think these 3 are the biggest advatages to digital printers.
FWIW, there is already a book that covers X5 color management on sale...http://www.graphictechnology.com/ and I know he's worked with digital printers quite a bit over the years.
