they should just call it "1.6 Repeating Bank" which is probably just as catchy.

Fifth Third's unusual name is the result of the June 1, 1908 merger of two banks, The Fifth National Bank and The Third National Bank, to become The Fifth Third National Bank of Cincinnati. Because the merger took place during a period when prohibitionist ideas were gaining popularity, it was believed that "Fifth Third" was better than "Third Fifth," which could be construed as a reference to three "fifths" of alcohol. The name went through several changes over the years, until on March 24, 1969, the name was changed to Fifth Third Bank.
Personally, I think the three fifths sounds like something I would drink to, if I drank!
In Wichita they have the Fourth National Bank. What happened to #2 and #3?
How about naming your sign company, The Seventh Sign Company of Wherever. Wouldn't your customers always ask you about the other six?

And of course I saw a tire shop one time owned by two guys Dunn and Wright. Done Right Tires.
Or a sewing fabric store named 'Sew it Seams'.
The best all time name was an accounting service in Clayton NM, I used to drive past. The accountant's name was N.O. Brane. Really. I even have the picture of the sign if anyone wants to see it. http://www.prestonmccall.com/no%20brane.htm

I went to school with Patricia and Michelle Kuntz. They pronounced their last name, well, the same as slang for vagina's. It was always a treat to have "Pat" or "Mickey" in a class on the first day of school and listen to the teachers try to dance around the name with "Coontz" or "Kuns" only to have Pat or Mickey shout out the obvious. They were both cool girls, very well adjusted and NOBODY ever teased them about their name. Their Dad was a really nice guy, taught hunter safety classes and raised Beagles. I bought my first Beagle from him.

I worked with a fireman from Stockton, California at a fire training center. His last name was DUCK.....you wouldn't think his folks would do this to him but....yep "DONALD". Donald Duck.....ummm Kinda rolls off the tounge. He made the jokes about it so it lightened up the mood. My last name is SMART....so I learned to fight real early on by defending myself at the cruelty of others. Some kids were very inventive with thier taunts. Pretty soon...they gave up because they knew I was always ready to duke it out....and I did on many occasions.
People can be real cruel sometimes. Still kinda funny tho.
