I am switching to a Mac platform, and wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a plotting program.

I have a Summa and had been running WinPlot as an illustrator plugin. I'd like to do the same thing, design in Illustrator and have some sort of simple driver program.

Hopefully this doesn't turn into a Mac vs. PC debate...

Hi Chris

I know there are plug-ins available to cut right out of illustrator, but I've been using flexiletter on my Mac since day 1 and haven't bothered checking it out.

good luck!

You might check out http://www.magisign.com/

I run CuttingMaster from Graphtec but you have a Summa already.
There may be others availalble gut Magisign has been around for quite awhile.

Right now I'm cutting from an older version of Flexi. But when the old Mac I'm using dies, I'm going with this company.

My helper went through the tutorials and said we're really going to like it, even better than Flexi. And the price is right. With the subscription, you need internet to be hooked up to the computer as it checks your subscription status when you launch it. I believe with the subscription, all updates are included automatically. They also have a free trial version for download.

SignCut-X2 3-Months Subscription $33
SignCut-X2 1-Year Subscription $58
SignCut-X2 2-Years Subscription $102
SignCut-X2 5-Years Subscription $217
SignCut-X2 with a dongle $300

I saw that too Dave but didn't have any more information on it. Let us know how the SignCut works out for you if you head that direction.

I've been very impressed with Cutting Master as it applies to it's optical registration from my HP9000 prints. It's generally better than the Edge/Gsx Plus cuts.

What I really like about it is that it has a full screen interface similar to flexi where you see your art, you can tile it by dragging tiling lines and position your art very easily. I looked into MagiSign and was never impressed with a plug in that just pops up boxes to type in your statistics. I like seeing what is going on.
