Now I wonder if all the people that said it two thousand AND nine are going to say two thousand AND ten? I never heard anyone say nineteen AND ninety eight.

Downunder, Dave, we say 'and' between our numbers (not 1998, though, but like one hundred and fourteen for 114, one thousand five hundred and sixty-seven for 1567, etc.
It sounds weird to hear american TV shows here where they leave the 'and' out of numbers in the hundreds.

Elaine, I prefer the form January 22, leaving off the -nd or -st. I don't put periods after MD, either, unless I'm forced to. I like the cleaner look.
