As some of you might know, I'm a big hockey fan! I love to watch a good game at home or live, pro or not, I coached for many years and still play twice a week even at 47. 6' tall, about 240 and still fast enough to stay in the top 3 scorers of our league for the last +\- 10 years... until last Tuesday night that is.
I'm no cry baby but being sidelined and bored with the laptop in the home kitchen, I thought I could share this for fun.
Chasing the puck to the corner, I won my race and tried to lose my opponent by spinning a quick 180... and lost an edge. my left skate stayed stuck where the ice meets the boards and the rest looked kind of like this. (this is where the teckies of this board can put in a link direct to youtube. I can't do this, so go to youtube and type "alexander mogilny breaks leg") This will give you a good idea on the way my leg got twisted backwards and popped both knee and ankle...
Here's a pic of what I look like this morning, sipping my coffee and wasting time.
I'm not too worried, the swelling and the pain is already starting to go away, I'm able to move around freely (wich I couldn't do yesterday)... I'll probably try a little visit to the shop this afternoon (but don't tell Heather...), I have a little job to size and a small pannel to paint. We'll see how it goes, on thing for sure, the knee-brace will not be on any X-Mas pictures!

Hope you heal fast, and remain fast after you heal. We just don't get that many hockey injuries here. Football, however...
I was playing football last Saturday with a couple dozen other guys and it occurred to me that I'd been married longer than any of them had been alive. I could have been their father... although I think Sophie would have had a problem raising so many kids.

Just back from phisio and the news are positive. No major trauma or obvious torn ligaments, just sprains on both ankle and knee. Already off the knee brace and starting to walk carafully.
Skates..... 2-3 weeks, can't be sure yet, more phisio on Monday and Thursday. In the mean time, luckily enough, my boss is kinda good towards me and so is Heather....
