Hello everyone! I have quite the issue of order streamlining. We have people all over our office grabbing orders when customers call in, and with artwork revisions, etc. It seems all the orders can get misconstrewn thoroughout the office. Here everyone gets busy drops what they are doing to do something else and so on. Thus making it hard to keep track of an order. How does everyone else out there keep track of their orders in the certain stages of order production.
Be it the initial order, artwork, quote, in production, installs, etc. Since jobs cab be anything from something tiny and small to something very large it is just a mess sometimes keeping it all organized. Any information would be appreciated. I have a solution, but my brother seems to think it won't work. however I would like to see what others suggest.
Thanks for any help letterheads!
Thanks T

Hiya Theresa, This sounds like one of those times where too many cooks spoil the broth. It may be time to start managing more and working less.
Anyway, there are many "systems" available and it's just a matter of choosing what works for you. A system can be just a basic clip board or spiral binder and notes, software, scheduling boards and much more depending on how "fancy" you want to get.
This has been discussed many times before. So, try doing a search here to see what you'll find. Here's one I commented on a while ago...

Job ticket holders are clear vinyl with stitched sides and an opening at top and you can slip the order into it. You probably have seen them at auto repair shops where the put the repair order and your keys in them and then hang them on a board for the mechanic to pick up. You can put the order into it along with samples or any other stuff that the customer gives you.
The best part might be that if they are left about the shop they are easy to see and you know what they are from across the room. Get them at an office supply store. They will not solve your problems by themselves but maybe they could help by keeping everything together.

Ha! Patrick...that was/is what I want to do. We used them at a screen printing/promotional product business I use to work for and they worked great!
Thanks to you both for the info!
