I have just a couple or three of Clear Redwood Sequoia Boards which are 2 x 12 x 8 or 10 long left from the 12 or 15 I had, been selling them at 14 15 a lineal foot. I used one for a shelf in my home held up by a Tiki. Probably make a carver cry, but I like the look

I long for the good old days when I could buy 2 x 12 x 20 foot clear all heart redwood for less than $3 a board foot. I would mill up 4' x 20' blanks and cut signs from them. Those days are gone forever.

I had a friend that used to frequent an old redwood forest that only contained fallen wood. It was owned by an older woman(I don't know what older means, though:). He used to make hand carved jewelry boxes and sculptures out of them. The smoothness on the boxes was unbelievable! The drawers were flush and couldn't feel the edge no matter what.
The vision of him going when the sun was glowing amber throughout the forest was enchanting. The idea that it was only fallen wood was a plus.
