Like a fine bottle of wine, a 60's muscle car, a Mickey Mantle rookie card, an original Picasso, or even a block of cheese: Ray's worth more with proper aging. Happy Birthday Ray, and many more.......

Sixty-five seemed like old age back there when I was a teen, but it doesn't now...as long as I don't look in the mirror. As long as I don't think too much about it, I actually feel very young.
I'm all signed up for Medicare and will start drawing Social Security in January. Yesterday I renewed my driver's license, so Texas is going to allow me on the streets again until 2015.
Today was a nice day. Jeanne greeted me with a kiss and new shirt. Mike and Julie gave a nice book and some warm pajamas (you get colder the older you get, you know). Mike even took me out for one of those good juicy, greasy cheeseburgers that we like.
The day was spent doing what I love to do and have always dreamed of doing - working in my studio. We finished up some work for a school in West Texas and lettered a pickup for a local builder. Nothing that would be in a magazine but rather nice, if I do say so myself.
Tonight, Jeanne will have me a fine meal and we will enjoy just sitting and talking about our day. Life is good. Tonight I will sleep well, knowing that I am rich with friends.
When the builder picked up his pickup today, that was the last job we had to do. There is nothing on the docket for tomorrow other than cleaning up the shop. So, today is a milestone in two ways. The culmination of 65 years of living and the first time I have ever had no work to do.
Of course, the bills continue to come in and there is no money to pay them...but today has been good and tomorrow will begin the new dream for the future. Up looks good from down here.
Thank you all for being my friends.

Thats what you get from not looking in on a daily basis.
Happy Belated Birthday to you, thanks for the mail the other day, was looking through some pics from last year, funny how an avatar here or pic in a magazine, gets you thinking you know people somewhat. Meeting you in real life was a real pleasure, and alot of fun not at all how I expected, hope we all get to meet up again before not too long.
