my mother, was italian and roman catholic, i can remember she would make POTATO PANCAKES..... dont know why......but every oct 12, we ATE potato pancakes!!!! but you just ate em plain..........NO MAPLE SYURP OR BUTTER!!!!

Vikings raided villages/hamlets all along the NE during their day, which predated Columbus...
They were very good seamen, and extremely fierce and brutal, steel weapons helped them desimate their enemies...
But they weren't first, land was already occupied, but probably first in taking from the Indian...
Wanna bet they had syrup or butter to put on their pancakes, potato or otherwise...lol
