I am coordinating an event to mark the creation of The Charter for Compassion - a document of hope and possibility inspired by Karen Armstrong, and written by spiritual leaders around the world.
The Charter for Compassion will be unveiled on November 12, 2009. People around the world are hosting events, and because Letterville is a global community, I would like to engage the talents of you fine people here to create "Words of Compassion".
I am going to create a blog and youtube video which will be connected to the Charter's host site - viewed by people around the world - to help celebrate this event.
Here's what I will need from you if you'd like to be part of this momentous occasion:
1) select one word that describes or points to compassion: peace, love, kindness, listen, understanding.....or whatever
2) in a medium of your choice, design and render your 'word' artistically.
3) send me a photograph or pdf - 300 dpi - of your project by November 2nd
4) Individual artist will be credited for their art, and I would be pleased to post links back to you in the blog.
5) This project is not for financial gain. Its sole purpose is to help spread hope and possibility in the world.
