Sonny you and I had the same agenda back then! 68-69 were good years for me to learn a lot of bad habits. Judy, I didn't know you went to Drake. I spent most of my life in Des Moines. My late wife got her MFA at Drake in '78. My current wife Elaine went to grad school there 4 years ago. Small world isn't it?

My brother in Vietnam, our family wearing out the pens and paper to him; he didn't get all the letters since he was in a tank in the jungle fires most of the time

Then there was the music to get us through our emotions

http://www.rrstar.com/news/x262903823/Woodstock-still-hip-40-years-later

Shows result in music appreciation.
“Bringing these (Sebastian, Hot Tuna) shows to Rockford brings some of us out of the woodwork to ... appreciate the music” of the Woodstock-era.

I was a 2nd grader in a south side Chicago school. Bert Fulton Elementary. Tinley Park, IL. Little did I know, my parents were plotting to move us to Michigan in 1970.

Wow, some of us are geeeezers!

To quote Grace Slick, "I don't remember"

Seriously, I was married, working, we had our first son.

I guess 64 makes me a geezer, however my personal definition is someone who can drive from their home to anywhere on the planet without ever shutting off their turn signal.

In 68 and 69 I was a pattern maker and owner of a custom shirt business on Sunset strip in SoCal. Made shirts for rock bands and celebrities.

I was riding my Yamaha 100 Trailmaster all over San Diego. I didn't have a driver's license yet. My parents thought I just rode off road on the trails. Never got caught but had to outrun the cops a couple times.

Starting my first year of college at Memphis State University where I majored in intramural basketball [Wink] ...our 2 biggest wins were against the MSU track team and the BVVW (Black Veterans of the Vietnam War)...played basketball 2 to 3 hours every day.

Spent last portion of '69 planning and setting up project: Corvette Funnycar, named "HellFire" Worked three jobs to help pay for such; Get-ready guy at car dealer till 10am, then cam-grinder till 5pm, then off to paintshop where I plyed my talents to all sorts of racecars till around midnite or so, and traded most for parts for mine, like the body, trans, wheels, etc.....fun days, drag racing, painting, fellowshipping, (met a ton of ppl. in industry during that few years, friendships that still exist today); priceless days...
