I was happily making sawdust for the last few days and was a little short of Extira so I dug deep into my pile of cut-offs for a small piece and whaddayaknow.... the old piece is a lot darker and even seemed harder and heavier than the new stuff!

Now I'm worried that Extira has changed their formulation and the new material may not last like the old material did.... and I did tests by leaving uncoated pieces outside in various places around my yard to see how they held up before I began to trust this material. Now I'm going to test again but I likely won't know anything for a few months.

Could this be a repeat of the Medex fiasco????

I've used 1" extira with no problems. I did find the newer stuff lighter. I'll see if a recently installed sign holds up when the rain starts.

I've only used 3/8" medex and it's still fine after 4 years in the elements.
