Officially doesn't start until September 1st but it was 30c here today and the garden is blooming!
Including this 20y/o specimin of the local "King Orchid (dendrobium speciosum).
It has 32 "spikes" this year with over a 100 flowers on each stem.
I have 4 other of these in the patio area, plus many other native orchids, and the perfume fills the air when I sit out there drinking my morning coffee.

Glad to hear that. I think summer finally arrived here yesterday.

We've had four distinct seasons here this year. Winter, Dead of Winter, Freeze your tutu off Winter, and mild Winter, which we're still in right now. Possible frost tonight... geez it's AUGUST!!!!

Honestly this has ben the hottest dry, longest summer I can ever remember, we had maybe 3 days of rain at the most, and this has been since March.. Hot and Humid again today, but tonight, watch out, Bill is going to pay us a litle visit, or at least what's left of Bill.

I remember that Australia is mostly foliage and colorful at that, with a few people living in between! Not like our overgrown cities here...what a wonderful new country you do have! If anyone ever has a chance to go to Australia, please try to go; everyone was so gracious to me even when it was almost an impossibility to go.
Thank you for the breath of spring, Bushie!

oooooohhhhhhhhhhhh! of course!! And I was picking at my brain for some Aussie thing, like bathroom is loo and dinner is tea!!
Ian and Joan and their children were wondering why I kept refusing tea at dinner time and thought I just didn't want to eat! One night they let me cook the tea!!!

Looks like Bill pretty well ran out of Breath by the time it hit here, started last night around 10:30, winds around 120km , a little breezy but hey I often play Golf in those winds, no damage to report, guess we got off lucky.
