Just found out that my grandson Mark, 25yrs. has a drastic case of MRSA which created a growth on a lower valve of his heart. He will have open heart in 2 days from now. (Reflecting a bit here on the ongoing health care talk of 200 plus reply 's...), The surgeon who is doing the operation (Tampa, Florida) had not ever seen a case like this and is doing the surgery... pro bono, as a research venture. Now isn't this simply a situation that separates itself from the blather of pro & con on the subject. This kind of thing is happening all over the country / world. Who pays for this, does not have one thing to do with any bleeding heart anywhere.
Your prayers are accepted in any case. Pray for all those wether you know them or not. We ALL need a little help from our friends.
Thanks...Jack

Thinking about you, your grandson and his parents. You're right that it all kind of brings it back to the bottom line now, doesn't it?
You of course have my most positive thoughts going to you all.

What is the doctor's name and which hospital? My step daughter is a surgical tech at Tampa General and does heart transplants and such. If it's there she could maybe keep an eye out.

Prayers extended to your grandson Mark. May God's healing hand guide the surgeon in both expertise and dexterity to complete this surgery successfully...that Mark's health is restored. Peace and comfort to Mark, and his entire family and network of friends.
Keep us posted Jack.

Good News.... Surgery went well and Mark, will be on the mend for a while now. A golf ball sized growth was removed from the valve so that lungs will work better now. The family is relieved that this boy will be well. Thank's for your prayers. It means a lot that all of us can be powerful by just saying so.
Jack
P.S. The surgery was done in Hudson,Florida not Tampa.Just an FYI for Dennis Goddard.

Jack, I just saw your post. You know we're praying here, and positive vibes to you and all of your family. Your grandson is still very young and has a good chance because of that as well.
That's awesome that he is in recuperation. Take care

You are so right about all of us here on the BB. People can complain all they want while on here, but we really ARE a family, & any of you who have never been to a meet need to try one!
