Thanks Joe...And even though I don't officially own the plaque you presented to me, nor the door it is attached to...I did check it out in June and with absolutely no maintenance, it still looks as great as it did 5 years ago!!!!
It is on a NW facing door that gets the brunt of all the winter storms and has weathered the storms admirably.
You have to tell our friend Francis that his doubts about your gilding and finishing methods were totally unfounded!!!
Gawd..It's hard to realize that it was 5 years ago that I mounted that plaque. I guess it is also a tribute to 3M double sided tape too!

I suppose my whole test idea was a little over the top but I learned a lot through your help and others. It wasn't ment to embarass anyone, but to have some independent evaluation on this crazy gilding idea. It could have just as easily failed.......then the mustard would have been on my face. Ahhhh, what the hell, "nothing ventured........"
