Well, my career as a Marketing Director just came to an end. After supplying hundreds of very good qualified leads, I found out that the owner (one of them) was not following up or closing the deal. He dicided, after I was hired that he could sit back and put his feet up. Sucks to be him...lol
I saw the writing on the wall, so I went out in June and closed 2 very nice deals for $60,000 (just to make a point). I got laid off 2 weeks later. The owners hadn't paid themselves in 2 months.
Life is good because the day after being set free, I cold called locally and got close to $8600 in sales ($4300 in deposits)...
I learned a very valuable lesson while in that position. It's just as easy to land the big jobs as it is to land the little ones. My clientle for the last 30 years (mostly due to fear) has consisted of Mom and Pop type places. Great people, but not alot of repeat work, just referrals. The corporate jobs and developers, golf courses, wineries, etc are just as easy to talk to, pitch and close. I see a very bright future coming. The futures so bright, I've gotta wear shades...he, he, he!

Terry, Want to travel? I've spoken to several well qualified mechanics that are lower on their workload than they've ever seen. You could buzz around and load some of these guys up and get your commission, and be considered an angelic visitation.
