I grew up with a gal that now lives on South Padre Island in Texas, and is a Sand Sculpture. Travels all over and also gives lessons. Sandyfeet.com It is some pretty neat stuff.

I know it sounds mercenary to ask..but surely a person with that talent should be able to gain some coin??

Those are built here in BC, just down the road from me at Harrison hot springs. they have competitions every year, My brother and I were going to compete at them once but discovered you need to have competed in other show's before entering that one, which we never did, and yes you can make money doing them, there are a few cash prizes for the winners, they have different categories.I believe the largest prize is for 10 grand, not bad for a weeks work, or fun.There very very cool in real life.
