It's been awhile since I've frequented the halls of knowledge but I have a query.
I am doing a sign for a local oil museum that serves as a history of the local boom days and the pioneering adventures during the late 1800's. I have the images and the layout but I am looking for suggestions for a font that would reflect the time period / subject matter.
I appreciate any ideas and thank you in advance.
Jeff

You might ask if they have some old photos, newspaper clippings, etc. in their possession. You could also try your local library; or surfing the net might be quicker.
Some of the Old fonts I use, right off the top of my head, are Railroad, Rodeo, Playbill, Playbill Western, Pointedly Mad, Algerian, PT Barnum, Gold Rush, and Showboat.
For the period you mentioned, maybe PT Barnum, Playbill, and Railroad might work, but I'm not sure.

Would some of these old Atkinson fonts work?
