After using my Graphtec for years and then getting this GSX15 some things are differant. Like having to leave enough off the rear end so it can still feed.. well today i done it again! Not enough overhang and it bound in the plotter and made some horrible noises! I know this is bad (not that I want to do this) but how bad is it? do I need to have the machine looked at? It sounded as if it was going to explode! i did another cut and it seemed to work okay..

Can't say about your machine there, I know that there have been a couple times when I made the Roland sound as though it was strangling a rabbit (high pitch rough squealing sound).
And no. I do not go around trying this on rabbits...
...but there was the time I watched a group of dogs chase a jackrabbit under a car, and...just before the end, there was a weird squeal.
This is how we deal with tech things in the boondocks...
...you're quite welcome!

I have two gsx plus plotters, and have done that a few times (bunched the vinyl) over the years on my 15 year old plotter, sounds terrible, but it sucks it up.. Gerber is over priced, but 15 years of service free labour, my first plotter doesn't owe me a thing. If it died tomorrow, I would give it an honourary funeral

That will happen from time to time. Over the 3 years I was at my last job, I saw that happen at least a hundred times. It's not fun to have happen, but it doesn't seem to do damage.
My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone. Posts: 3129 | From: Tooele, UT | Registered: Mar 2005
