Russ McMullin was true to his word and late this evening he emailed me his new font 'hot off the press'. Thanks Kelly for rolling the dice in my favor. Sometimes I get lucky in Yarrow.
I couldn't resist giving the new font a test drive and created a file of a small panel I'll route tomorrow. After we paint it up I'll send it along to Russ as a souvenir. No good deed goes unpunished it seems.
Russ' new font is called 'RM Rusty Tuscan' and as I looked at it I recalled Raymond begging in his replies to my posts lately that I do something with rust on it... So since the font is called 'rusty' I did my duty. I added the rivets as they are not part of the font... I do have a valid artistic licence and I'm not afraid to use it. Here's what the panel will look like when its finished...
Slowly rusting away in Yarrow...

...I had to look three times: the top line of S, T & Y is straight - wow, that's weird!
(nice work, both of you. That font looks like half of one I have in an old lettering book.)

I'm glad Russ (or you, Dan) chose that font. When I found who had won I immediately thought of Rusty Tuscan as the one I would have chosen. I'm sure it will work well with your style. The panel looks great, that's a nice gesture. Good on ya, Dan!

My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone. Posts: 3129 | From: Tooele, UT | Registered: Mar 2005

That's so nice, Dan. You are all so great. Been out of commission for a while & didn't realize how much fun I've missed. Thanks to Barb for reminding me to renew. And thank you all for being so warm & friendly.
