I don't post much because I am still learning but this seems worth sharing. I have heard nothing but good things about Gemini and I have never used them until last week. I worked with a client since last November to get this job and finally it happens. I order from Gemini and work out the details for everything and moved on. That was 3/25/09. I add to the order the next day as the client had an additional sign needed. Great! I was assured about it getting out quick and about the shipping time and of course told the client who planned to open his warehouse a few days before the letters would be delivered. I called to check and they have not started! Again, I have heard nothing but good things about Gemini and this is my first experience with them but, ugh!!! Boy I can be a nervous nelly to begin with but this was not what I wanted to hear of course. I just have to laugh after I have done all I can do and let the great spirit unfold things as it seems fit. Getting my ego busted is always good for a great belly laugh. I'm still nervous but I am sure many of you artists know the experience of wanting perfection so bad you get in your own way, as well as, the experience of pin-pointed concentration where time is forgotten and yourself along with it.

Bruce, Not many details about what kind of sign it was. If you have not signed a proof, they will not "start" a project. Most Gemini orders take 2-3 days to proof and 7-10 days to produce plus shipping time. At what stage is your project?

Mikes, I did send a copy of the layout to them. The person I ordered through asurred me there was nothing else to do and I could check back to track the "shipping" if I wanted. It is all formed plastic letters at standard sizes nothing custom. I spoke with someone at Gemini and she is sorting it out, but nothing has been done yet.

Gemini doesn't stock most letters, they make them to order, as far as I know. Every Gemini order I've ever had has taken ten days at least to make and deliver, depending on your location. You CAN pay extra for overnight shipping - but that doesn't speed up the manufacturing process.

I got an email from gemini and the women I spoke with sounds as if she has worked it out and is speeding up the process for a fast turn around and delivery time. I will let you know how it goes when all the cards come in. Most important to me personally is the oppurtunity to take the corrective action in an attiude I would admire in another.

That is why I hate doing a job I can't do in house...Giving your customer the gaurantee with your name on it, and then having to leaving it up to you subs....
It is never a fun situation to be in. Hope it works out in the end

customer should have ordered sign sooner. Gemini is prompt considering the process they have to go thru to make each order. I cant belive a rep from there even told you "it would be gotten out quick". you also stated you worked with this client since LAST NOVEMBER that was plenty of time for them to get off their ass and make a decision on a sign.
I am not attacking you but this is the same old scenario wait to the last minute and rush the signguy and the holler at signguy because there is no sign

I agree and my client has been real good with the original timeline. It will be interesting to see fast I do get it now. I did tell Gemini to pay for a faster shipping mehtod. I think they will do it. We will see.
