Pierre, I love what your doing! What a great story in SignCraft! You are right on the cutting edge of something.
With all the economic turmoil that's occurring, you can continue to run your business as usual on an absolute shoestring budget. (No big printer and router payments, trash removal costs, vinyl and printer expendable inventories, no computer viruses, software upgrades [just Signcraft and other reference materials], no staff, etc. etc. etc.)
Your way "Greener" than any other sign shop I know of. Your trash can be picked up in a can instead of a dumpster. You recycle old signs and make the new signs look even older than the originals. You could work by the light of a Coleman lantern. How much production could most of us do without power.
And best of all, you provide something unique to your customers. On premises Advertising that really works. Basic, timeless, attractive, soothing and unique images amongst a digital maelstrom.
We constantly ignore history and blindly follow trends that strip us of our talents, our personalities and our God given abilities. I applaud your initiative Pierre and those others out there that are keeping it simple and who actively encourage and teach their skills with others.

Pierre's passion for hand lettering became evident to me at a Beaver Dam in Toronto a while back. He had his (wife's) car inside the booth and over the weekend he lettered it up on all sides. As we took down the display at the end of the weekend he was removing the lettering from the car. I have no doubt he's lettered the car a few more times since... just for the joy of it.
I have a panel of his proudly on display in my shop.
Great article Pierre!
