A long time ago someone posted a tip on how to weed small lettering.
Weed the centers from any closed letters. Apply transfer tape. Remove release liner. Pull remaining vinyl from transfer tape.
Yesterday my Wife called and asked if I could apply etchmark vinyl to a glass vase, and I said "sure I can"
She came home last night with 8 vases that they wanted peoples names and titles on. To make it all fit, the names were to be 1/4" tall, and the titles had to be 5/32" tall, and 1 of them had to be forced to 68% to fit the vase.
I tried to weed the first one normally...ain't gonna happen around here...then I remembered reading this tip from long ago. Worked like a charm!!! Vases are done! Wife's happy! Her boss is happy!
I can't remember who posted the tip so long ago, but I really want to say THANK YOU!!!
I would also like to thank Steve & Barb again for making it possible for whoever it was to help me out so much.

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall watching you struggle and then the look on your face when you remenbered on how to do little vinyl letters.

Don, the app method for the tiny stuff is a regular around here, but the etched vinyl is almost impossible to see. How are you doing that? What transfer tape? How do you see the cut lines?

I'm not Don, but you can see the cut lines if you rub in a little charcoal powder. Just a little is enough.

Not to jump ahead of how Don did it Rick, but I will give my way. I run my pounce bag over the vinyl before weeding on this material along with white.
The powder darkens the cut paths and I wipe it back off. Then of course I put on my Wal-Mart High Powered reading glasses for extra help.
Edited to say; Frank types faster than me.

Another “at times” helper is forced expansion and contraction. If time permits, rotating visits to the freezer or cold area and then a sun room, paint booth, or other heated area helps create additional separation between cut items. Not always advisable, not always as helpful as the last time used, but a trick to keep in the toolbox for the appropriate times.
Don, I haven’t forgotten to reply; honest.

As far as the weeding, I have an 8' strip light positioned above my bench where it will reflect directly to my eyes. Makes all cut lines pop out at you.
Bob, If you wait much longer you may have to include something about his latest win in your reply. Hope so, anyway.
