I just got a mailing from Havel's Inc. in Cincinnati Ohio. They are selling plotter blades Gerber 30, 45, 60 degree for $9.50 each Gerber, roland, ioline, mimaki, anagraph, graphtec summa and Mutoh blades for $13.50. Are they any good? Seems like 1/3 of the price I pay. Has anybody dealt with them? (I am spoiled by my Graphtec blades- they keep cutting and cutting- last forever, My Gerber blades don't last long at all)

I have never used Havel blades before, but I've never heard anything bad about them. On the other hand, I have tried blades from several different suppliers. A few have been so so blades, some have been good, but no matter what, I've always gotten the longest life out of Roland original equipment blades. They do cost more but are worth it. I can't say anything about other oem blades as I've only owned Roland plotters.
If Havels blades are of the same quality as a Roland brand blade, I would definitely try them.

I have only used Havels since 1995- never had any issues. Don't know about any other suppliers- once I find someone who offers a good product, good service and good price I try to stay with them as long as I can. I'm sure there are other good companies out there as well.
I lost my laser vellum supplier at the first of the year- I had bought from them since 1992 exclusively!
