Just got home from the Milwaukee Charity event, once again the New kid on the block in the paint world was there to help the kids. "Dupont Hot Hues Pinstriping Paint" I have been using it for almost 2 years now exclusively, and not one complaint.
Last year we raised 48 thousand for the kids and in a couple days I hope to hear what we raised this year.
The great Alan Johnson won the award from "Pinstripe Legends" this year, and the list of who's who in the industry is way to long list, However we had a great time and helped a lot of kids hopefully. DeWayne

I was fortunate enough to not only meet Dewayne at the Recent Legends of Pinstriping event but to have him also help me finish up a panel for the auction....thank you Sir!
They abbreviate the World of Wheels event - WOW of course, and there is no better way to describe it. It was my first charity auction event and I was overwhelmed by the whole experience. From meeting some of the best striping talent in the World to watching all the fun at the auctions, it was amazing.
I just want to toss a few things out there and then I'll post some pictures. This is not really a Letterhead meet, at least not like anything I've been to. There is a lot of serious brush work going on so that there will be plenty to sell over the weekend in the several scheduled auctions. Don't get me wrong, there was a good bit of fun but there is a lot of work being done in a short amount of time. The auctioneer said they have been doing this event for 7 years now in Milwaukee and have raised over $250,000 for the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. I am not much of a pinstriper myself, but I managed to produce a couple of panels that went into the auctions. I also ended up buying a couple of things to help out.
Next year I hope to produce more work prior to the event and hopefully I learned enough from this event to know what sells and for how much. So next year I will try to maximize what I can do to help.
If you are a paint slinger and live near one of these events, please do what you can to help. If you can't make it to one of these events, perhaps you'll consider sending something that could go in the auctions?
It's a great way to help those who cannot help themselves!
Now some pics....

this first pic is a bit blurry....but the metal panel on the floor is my first attempt at sandblasting a car illustration onto polished stainless steel.....it now lives somewhere in Florida!
My other panel, with some help from DeWayne.....a take-off of Del's original painting of the events main logo.
"When I grow-up I wanna be Like Bill Riedel"......the painting looks way better than the photo he was working from!

Ain't it great? I did my first WOW last year (with Dewayne in attendance) and it blew the doors off of anything I've ever been to. There are almost no egos involved. No hierarchy. It is sheer raw painting and a helluva good time. If you know me, you know I crank 'em out. So these things are my perfect venue even tho I can't stripe a lick. And I got to be the Rah Rah for one auction. Thanks for the pix, beautiful stuff there. Glad you had fun. That's what it's all about, really. Love....Jill

This was my first WOW and trip to Milwaukee. I decided to go when I found out that alan was getting the award. It was a great event, the Harley museum is worth visiting, and it was fun hanging out with old friends and meeting some new ones.
I am also the proud owner of the vest in picture #10 that Paul Quinn pinstriped and Dewayne caned the pockets on. I hope to be back next year.

WOW is right!!! Looks like a great event. Thanks for posting the photos Dale. Alton's panel of A.J. looks killer...love to see a close up to catch the humorous details that I just know are in there.
Is that "the" Milner coupe?

I've wanted to post this for awhile, but never thought of a catchy way for it to be incorporated...until now.
This is from one of the cars on the Hot Rod Power Tour from 08 that ended in Madison, WI this past June...
Saw the car and the striping and HAD to take the pics....can you believe it? Check out the date and the striper...
