I've looked and can't find how to save photoshop files to a lower version. We have CS2. Now that there is CS4 out how do we deal with those clients files? Thanks

It shouldn't make a difference. I've created CS4 PSD files on my 'puter at home and had no problem opening them up in Photoshop CS2 or CS3.

Ensure that they save the file with Maximize PSD File Compatibility enabled. Edit>Preferences>File Handling>File Compatibility>Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility should be set to Always or Ask. if set to Always, the file will always be saved with maximum compatibility. If set to Ask, the user will be prompted to save with maximum compatibility.
Be aware that the file size is going to increase as it not only saves each layer, but a flattened composite as well. Also be mindful that any effects, filters, or new features, etc. used on “their” end (CS4), you will be unlikely to see them get carried over and supported on your CS2 end of the equation (from a layer perspective, composite should reveal intended look).
PS does not have interface provisions like AI does in allowing an end user to “save back” or select what version the file format should be written out as.
