I need a couple pieces of 23" X 84" white .177 polycarbonate panels for a backlit sign.

Couple questions:

What's the going rate for a panel of that size? I got a quote of $100 per piece. Does that sound high?

Any ideas of a good, competitive source for this type material?

Thanks.

Todd,
I may have some that size in stock that I would want to sell. I would sell it cheaper than you could buy. Call me at 810-706-0036

Oh, man...this is good! I accidentally called 800 706-0036 and I got a sex hotline to talk to some porn queens for $$.

LOL... I quick hung up and thought, "Um...is Laura operating some other business on the side?!" Then, I discovered I dialed 800 instead of 810 for the area code.

Whew!! That one really threw me....I'll call you up again with the right number shortly.

If Laura doesn't have what you want, Wensco would sell you a piece 4' by 7' for $165

That's usually my source.

Hiya Todd,
If that price included cutting to size and delivery I would still say it was high. My regular source, which is about 2.5 hours away, would charge about $130 for a 4' x 8' - cut to size and include shipping.

Havin' fun,

Checkers

My source (Pioneer Supply, Pittsburgh) would cut those pieces and deliver them to me for $144.

Checkers and Brad - could you give me your sources names....and phone #'s if you have them handy? Thanks.

Also...the current sign blanks within the strip-mall sign appear to be .25" acrylic/plexiglass...and they fit into channels on at least the top and bottom horizontal supports for each individual sign.

Could I get away with .125" polycarbonate? They might be slightly "loose" in the channels of the framework, but I don't think they would crack like the picture below...each plastic panel is 23" X 84".

The sign i'm doing goes where the cracked one is in the picture - - both sides of the sign - lit in the middle.

What say ye?

Yes you can use the thinner plastic as long as it is polycarbonate. Are you traveling to Pittsburgh to save a few?

.118 poly would run you $112 total.
