Deb that is some serious Talent you have there.
I get burned out all the time, not from actually designing but the day to day dealings with Money and operating a business. Thanks heavens I have a wife who loves that sort of thing, otherwise I probably would have thrown the towell in years ago. Keep the faith, and your head in the right place and expell any negative thoughts from within you...read a good self help book.. 90% of the things you worry about never happen anyway...so worrying is energy wasted.
Man I can certainly Talk the Talk can't I?

Business slow? Plan a trip somewhere...the phone will start ringing...or toss out some of those old patterns...those customers will call in a couple of days saying time for a new sing or truck to be lettered.
Seems to work every time!

Hey Debb! .... take another "recharge" on your batteries!
Been around awhile enough to appreciate your finished work and how well it's done!
But, biggest rewards I've had in life is the (unpaid) love of showing somebody else "how I did THAT" and ..."Pointing them up the the start of the Yellow Brick Road"
Man! When they come back and show you what they have done. Taken those ideas and techniques to another level, and THANK YOU for the kick start, that is pure gold!

A couple years ago I heard that WyoTech (a technical school) was looking for instructors. I thought that a regular paycheck and benefits looked pretty good, so I appplied for a job in their Street Rod program. I didn't get that, but I was hired to teach Auto Body Collision and Refinishing. I liked teaching, and it was very rewarding to be able to inspire young people.
The 1 1/2 hour commute was not much fun however, so when a friend who owns a motorcycle exhast business offer me a job 5 minutes from home, I left WyoTech. Recently the motorcycle business slowed down and I was laid off along with a lot of others.
At first I panicked and called WyoTech, but I couldn't bring myself to do that drive again and didn't want to move. I was looking through my portfolio and remembering the nice people and fun jobs that I have done over the years, and realized that this is where I belong!
So with renewed enthusiasm I put some lettering and graphics on my vehicle, and have been doing a lot more in the way of self promotion than I have done before. As a result, I am busy with a lot of fun projects, designing graphics for the motorcyle exhaust company, designing and helping to build a tail section on a bonneville race car, helping a friend finish his '41 Willys, plus all the usual signs and pinstriping.
