Actually 90 minutes old here in OZ!
Usually this "old phart" is dead asleep midnight New Years Eve nowdays. But I have been reflecting on 2008 and the "ups & downs".
Fortunately the "down" midyear was short term thanks to help from family and friends (especially ones here) who helped me regain the confidence in myself to make 2008 a outstanding success! Money is not everything. Enjoy life while you can with what you got!
2009? ... Looking VERY good. Thanks again to my friend and mentor Si with whom I talk to almost every day on Skype. The old man has taught me so much and I'm finally putting theory into practice
Simple things .... like when to say "NO". "stop your 30 y/0 brain trying to cash checks on a 63 y/0 body"
Looking forward to cruising comfortably thru 2009 with maybe another trip to USA in June and couple to NZ. Why leave the money to the kids? hhahahahhaha
Anyway, Sue and I would like to wish you all the very best for 2009.

Well, it's now official, 2009 is here, for better or worse. No matter how good things are, they could always be better, no matter how bad things are they could always be worse. Here's hoping we all have a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Peace, Love and Happiness to one and all!

All the best JOn- we had no internet yesterday, but rain was a great start to the year here, though a dead horse- our favourite & the best one- due to snakebite, wasn't a pleasent way to start the day.
So, all the best of luck, health & happness to you, Sue & everyone here.

Sorry to hear about the horse.
I lost a cat who was my best mate that way too. At least with a cat that size the Red Belly Snake took him out real quick, 30 seconds? .... didn't suffer.
Rain! Yeah, heaps! We had 50mm last night. Tanks overflowing like a fountain! Only drawback is I gotta cut the lawns every week now before it reaches Candy's belly level .... hahahahhaha
Rain is liquid gold here. More to come too. The local economy booms. Grab your share mate!

Thanks, Jon- yes, the local economy is going OK- a biggish (for me) job I did with the router led to another one from the business next door, which led to another from the owner of the same complex...so they're liking what we've been doing, so far! NO competing for quotes, just a 'we've seen what you've done and we'd like some too' attitude, which is nice.
I'll be needing a cherry picker soon!
