Hiya Dan, I like the flavor of your redesign. It in keeping with the old design while giving it a fresh look. However, the type for their logo is too condensed and illegible. So, it's back to the drawing board.

I agree with Checkers. The type is very hard to read. Also, the colors are soft and muted, which give it less impact. The orange outline around the apple seems unnecessary, as well as the blue outline around the text. The outlines around the phone number give less impact rather than more.
If I were to approach this, I would try to make a bold design, without gradients, that would work in black and white first, then add color.
My mind wanders. And that's not a good thing, 'cause it's too small to be out there alone. Posts: 3129 | From: Tooele, UT | Registered: Mar 2005

I can see what you are trying to do, but as has been suggested, find a better suited font. When using outlines, make sure they don't get spikey (like the tops of the T in future) And try to avoid too many gradients and outlines, you want this to pop. I think the worm/apple theme has been done quite a bit. I think I might try using a different version of it. Here is a quickie suggestion, that green squiggle is supposed to be a worm!

Much easier to read but I would definitely straighten out the line Development Center. If you want to reduce the empty space to the sides of Early, it would be better to curve the top line more if anything. In your redesign the phone number looks now disconnected from the rest. It is the apple shape that holds everything together, I think. I also second the call for brighter colours.

Not a fan of the opposing distortions or the squished font on the name. Be kind to your letters.
