I've used Finesse for so long now, must be twenty five years or so. Great product! We use the edge tape from them also. In all those years I've never seen a problem.

I don't use it anymore; don't get any calls for striping but I used to use it and it was great stuff. I think Joey uses it. ...for taping his palette down to his Killer Kart so it doesn't blow away.

There was an article done with me using Finesse, July 01 Sign Builders Illustrated whereas I was showing its usage as a tool and what could be accomplished when doing panel to panel, I use #37 for triples only because of its spacing. I have no problems free handing singles and doubles at a faster pace and just as straight and uniform. Recently maybe couple years back Pepe changed the formula of the tape and I did have a problem with its match so I just wound up doing it by hand.

I use it quite often...like it very well. I have a car dealer that sells a lot of upscale new cars and many of them (Lexus, Mercedes, BMW) have very narrow pinstripes,1/16th or less. I do their body shop work. Finesse works the best I've found.

I used to until I learned to freehand... Much slower to use the stencil tape and adds quite a bit to material cost.. especially when doing a lot of cars.. That said.. I would have never been able to be in the long line business if it hadn't been for starting off with Pepe's Finess stencil tapes..

Jill, the orange tape can be had from most any auto body supply house. One thing to try is the Edge from Finesse which is 1/3 the price, turn just as well and is available from 1/16" to 1"

Joey, I do use that Edge tape too, I just forgot what it was called. I can get that from Pioneer Supply Company. I will have to check out some auto body stores for the orange stuff, but that's where I buy my Finesse and I never see the orange tape there.

I use the Finesse striping tape all the time, made thousands of $ over the years with it. I keep a supply of different widths on hand all the time.
Love the Edge tape too. Have not bought a roll of 3M green for years.

I use it all, 3-m, Pro, American, Finesse; whatever fills the bill at the moment...
Jill, just received word that Pro that makes the orange is discontinuing it's distribution...but not to despair, Olga tapes, the yellow one, is taking up the slack and I've found it superior to Pro...Pro like 3-m blue, won't stay flat on tight corners or loopbacks, drives me crazy doing a layout, having to constantly keep trapping my designs before tape shrinks up and lifts off surface, making a mess of things...no to mention extra time taken for layouts...you'd think the tape industry here would get the message, yellow tape is from Europe somewhere, regardless, I like it, it's not the final answer, but works nice if treated right.....
As far as Finesse, I'm a striper, I find it faster to just stripe the line by hand and be done w/it...it will be many years yet before I'm worried about pulling less than perfect lines...but when that time comes as it did when I had cancer, Finesse and I became close buddies, had at least 3 of every size available, owner Pepe must have thought I was quite the wheeler/dealer from all the tape I bought, but doing up to 30 dealership cars a day required alot of striping and I had to do it somehow or give up the accounts, Finesse!!!!!! was the answer, thank you Pepe, and btw, Pepe hasn't changed any FORMULA, that's nonsense...what has probably happened is, the cutting stages might deviate slightly over time, requiring adjustments to compensate, other than that, it's the same product it was over 20 years ago when I started stocking it west of the mississippi, the first one to do so, Pepe and I go way back....good man, good product and no attitude when questions arise...why u ask J?

Actually Frank, the tape was changed both in color and flexibility sometime back, and Jose and I practically lived in the same neighborhood never the less we both lived in Queens
I remember when I was a transient pinstriper in Vegas and both you and ya buddy used Finesse in record time

I don't know about the actual tape ( the tan ) being changed, but the clear release liner was changed a few years back. I remember when Pepe was working on the new liner he sent me a roll for some feedback. The new stuff is much, much easier to remove. The lighter weight liner makes it a lot more flexible. Any way, it's great product that has made me thousands!!! We have a fire truck restoration coming up sometime in the future. I'll do a step by step on how we use Finesse F-39 to do the 1/2 gold stripes. A major time saver.
