Am I tired out....YES. Was it a good and fun experience.....YES!
Router - Design - and dimentional workshop that I called "Dimension - 101" is now in the books. We had a very interested and interesting group with us.
The whole class was about 3D signwork. Sort of like my good buddy Dan, we talked about general sign design, what we can do with EnRoute and CNC router tables, faux-finish paints and textures, gold leafing, etc, etc, etc......
Special thanks to my good friend Gilbert Cloutier from AXYZ Quebec for letting me use his facilities in Montreal for the class for I don't have the kind of room here to hold these events. Over at AXYZ, they have a fully equiped video class room, a nice and clean showroom with brand new CNC tables and all the space we need to work, play and eat !
Here are a few shots of the past weekend, an example of the souvenir piece that each person got to paint and take home, the work area, the class room and a group shot with : Noella, Yves T., Yves D., René, Marc-André, Sylvain, and below, François, Vincent, Benoit and Sylvie.
Good group of people, thanks for all being there and being part of history as the first attendies to this sort of events being held in French in Quebec.
A note here that when these posts are usually up, all participants reply and talk about their experience, the fun they had and what they have learned, but this time it will stay quiet because to my knowledge, none of them are regular visitors and contributors to this board. But most have already sent me an e-mail with all of their experience shared and the appreciation of the special week-end they had just been a part of.
Thanks to all, you have been such a fine group of people that have marked me for life, and special thanks to Yves Dubé, the tech guy at AXYZ, for his help and humour and knowledge about the software/machines/toolbits.....

Well done René, glad to hear it was a great success, you're a good teacher, from the one on ones we've done together. It looks like you had a great time.
I was thinking about you while I was humping wood over the weekend....maybe that means something else over there, while I was moving logs at the weekend, I wondered how things were going for you.
Did you get to play with any newer AXZY machines? When I spoke with Yves last time he mentioned some new things that were going to be in production soon.

I had no doubt Rene would make a great teacher and do a good job on the workshop. The project panels look great!
You do look a little tired Rene however...

Well, I couldn't remember your schedule Rene and I was hoping that this was going to be the French workshop. I sent you an e-mail regarding your proposed English version coming up next, I want to make sure I've got a seat or two reserved there when you decide on the details. I'm glad you got all the bugs worked out in the French workshop first! Wait a minute...did I say bugs.....?

Raymond, I think there's a Plug-in to convert the conversation format from francais to anglais, but I'm not sure what it costs!
It would have been good to attend, I'm sure!

Nice job Rene! I can also agree that you have the skills in dimensional design, as well as instruction, so I have no doubt it was a success. Congrats!

Well, so much for the smart mouth remarks. Seriously, congratulations on a successful workshop. You certainly have the knowledge and experience to pull off these things without a hitch.
And you will just get better and better with each class. I wish you all the best - you certainly deserve all the nice words that have been said about you and your abilities.

Hallelujah! I was afraid you wouldn't want to do it again. I am in for English version. I am most interested in how the software is run. I want to wrap my head around that learning curve first.
