Thought I would drop a note to wish everyone well.
I'm still finishing up sign orders and training to qualify for my "certificate of readiness" I'll be testing for in December. Then applying to the provincial police. I've lost 20 pounds and feel great.
I'm offering a final workshop from my studio in Creemore on the weekend of January 16, 17, 18 2009. If you wish to sign up or have any questions, please email me. The workshop outline is the same as previous workshops and can be found here It would be great to meet more of you. Here is a sign I finished last week. The fascia sign had to have a strong image without being cost prohibitive. It's made from intecel.

Beautiful piece Shane, I remember seeing the sketches, top shelf buddy.
Hope all is well in your neck o'the woods !
My workshop is this coming week-end, and it filled up, I have a class of 10. It is a lot more prep work than I had anticipated.... luckily, there's Creemore beer at the end of the day !

Beautiful signage and yes very inspiring. I love the fact the background is not the retro cookie cutter antique thingie which is copied by everyone and the Top is awesome

Beautiful work! It's great to see the finished piece after seeing the design on paper.
Glad to hear things are going well with your new vocation. That has to be exciting.
To any who have considered Shane's workshop,...go! The inspiration and information is not to be missed. You will be a better artist because of it. A great teacher to learn from.
Shane, all the best to you and your family.
Peace, Bob

Shane I just came across an article about you in an old Signcraft. Your work is so very nice, it is a shame you are changing careers! Oh my gosh, & that moon sign!!!! What the heck are you doing? Your work is of the best I have seen, it just seems like a waste of some awesome talent!
The sign industry sure will be short one very fine artist!...and I do wish you well!

Hello Shane! Wow I also remember seeing that in the sketch form at your workshop. It looks amazing! You do such wonderful work! I hope all is well up your way. I was up in Collingwood last Sunday. Didn't have enough time to stop in. Maybe next time! Good luck in December on your "cerificate of readiness". I'm sure you will do just fine! One of my girlfriends are actually with the OPP and she enjoys it. Maybe you'll have the pleasure working with her someday if you are up in the Ottawa Valley! Good luck with your new venture.
