There are a lot of special folks in the Letterhead movement - most are willing to share whatever they know in an unselfish manner.
No one represents that attitude more than Bob Gilliland. Yankee Bob has been a friend for many years and takes my constant ribbing with a smile and even doses out a few jabs in return.
Recently, one of the hard drives on my computer went bye-bye and had to be replaced. That meant having to re-install lots of software, get all the drivers up and running, plus everything connected back together through a wireless network. All way above my head.
For the past several days Bob has spent hours and hours with me on the phone guiding me through a very frustrating process. My strong suite is certainly not computers and anything technical, and yet Bob with his infinate patience stood by my side and made sure everything was up and running correctly.
Now, I owe him big time. At some point I may have the opportunity to return the favor and do something for him and Kathy, but for now I just hope that he will accept my very profound appreciation for what he does for me.
There's just a bunch of "Flowers for the Living" that I have to extend to a very special friend. Thanks Yankee.

About a year ago when setting up my new system I was having trouble with Omega, I was not loading the full version when I thought I had.
It was not a big problem but to me it was, Bob called and not only helped walk me through it but took the time to send through some patches to help.
I thanked him as many times as possible in that time, but when I see his name pop up I always think back on that time and still I thank him. again.

Remind me again who built the system? And you’re still thanking me publicly!
Many, many folks have helped me since early 96 and I like to give back when and where I can. My lines may not be as sharp and crisp as others (but I am holding the brush from the correct end Mr Harding!) and the layouts may not even enter onto the Butler-Anderson scale, but I do try to pass along where I feel I can.
“Flowers for the Living”. A great spoken truth from Mr Chapman too many folks attending a special service back in March of 2003. Time is one of the few things I, the bum down the street, and Donald Trump have in common. It is something that was shared with me by those that cared to invest and it something I invest to those that I care. I appreciate those that have helped my journey forward in the trade and I desire to pass along when and where I am able to those that are willing to carry the torch farther or faster on the same journey.
Thanks Raymond for the kind words. One more time, who originally built the system?
Sam, you’re welcome. Glad I was in a position to help.
EDIT: Man, I need to learn how to spell

You're reading the wrong lines Harding. That's the bar code.
No...Yankee Bob built the system back in May, shipped it to Texas, and then came down to set it up for me. He stayed a week making sure everything was up and running perfectly. While he was here I fed him all the Blue Bell Ice Cream I could find.
The failure of the hard drive didn't have anything to do with Bob - just one of those freak things that happen every now and then.
Bob rigged up something so that he can work my computer all the way up there in Harrisburg. And he's still fine tuning stuff for me. Now, if I can just scan in a work order and have him complete it for me and ship the sign back to Texas I think we will have the perfect computer system. Of course....at no cost to me.
Tomorrow I begin a two day training session in ArtCam, so Bob got everything ship-shape just in time.
Thanks again Bob. I owe you big time.
