Now, before we get started, I know that the whole digital signage movement is encroaching upon the beauty of tradition handmade signs, not a fan of it, but customers are. We have a client that we are building a donor recognition board for, and would like a screen in the centre of a sculpted piece(still able to keep the traditional stuff in there!!!) that will display historic photos and sponsor names.
Does anyone know of any companies that I can get in contact with for this type of job? Any recommendations?
I need a supplier for the hardware end of this, so possibly a display, but for sure the equipment to run the content. Thanks,

Daktronics, I think it would be a Prostar Display for interior or exterior. Custom made to any size. Comes with software and options for communication. Wireless, internet, direct. Go internet and you do the programming for residual income.

Hiya Amos, I gotta agree with Mike on Daktronics. Although I have not purchased from them yet, their support is awesome. If the support after the sale is even 10% of what it is before the sale, I would not have any worries. One word of caution though. If you have a client that is truly interested in this medium, make sure they have deep pockets and/or a great credit rating. They are not cheap! A more affordable option here in the US may be Wagner Zip Change... http://www.wagnerzip.com/2005/SkyMotion1.html Although I haven't dealt with them for digital yet, I can't say anything bad about the company.

This sounds like a interior donor board to me. The Daktronics stuff is for large scale installations. Plus even the 20 pitch version is pretty grainy up close.
I have a feeling you might be better off with a flat monitor, a PC and PowerPoint. You can still pick up more revenue creating the content for them.

Ya, I think a laptop with a powerpoint or small MPG4 movie. We'll see what's out there, and I'll be sure to post the final pictures once it's up in a few months.
