I ocassionally get a call for tint. There's plenty of places around town that does it, but hate to turn jobs down.
Didn't want to order a whole roll, but the last place I got it from was $49 + shipping for enough to do one 4' x 6' window. At another website I can get a 5' x 25' roll for about $80 with free shipping.
There's probably some difference in quality, but if I can get a roll for $80, that would leave a fair amount of backup material for the next job(s)
Any insight into differences of tint quality? Should I stay away from the $80 roll?
Thanks, Tony

Hmm. If they can't even tell you what brand it is, I'd shy away from that company.
Not that the brand name is the determining factor but it's nice to know which product is offered so in the event of a problem, you can get it taken care of or avoid them in the future.

I wouldn't even consider this stuff. I used to do lots of tinting. The lesser stuff will turn purple after a while. Its just a dye coloring. Premium films use metallic coatings which last for years... A roll of regular 36 inch Madigo (sp) was around $300 if I remember right. Its worth every penny.
