Well we've survived the first official day of Router Magic V here in Yarrow...
The shop is crammed full of the greatest people... As host my job has been relatively easy with everyone chipping in and helping with things. I'm trying my best to relax and have fun along with our guests. As usual there's plenty of folks working hard behind the scenes making it run smoothly. Janis, Rebecca, and Donna are doing more than there share. Janis' sister Vicki is here for the weekend as well.
Cody and Jenesa are helping big time as well to make sure it all goes smoothly. THANKYOU!!!
There's bug and doggie stickers everywhere... I suspect I'll be finding them for years when I least expect it.
As anticipated, this event is one which is generating so many memories that will last a lifetime. While we gathered to learn about routing and dimensional signs, its really about friendship, sharing and doing what we love.
Just before supper yesterday the "B" is for bug challenge was revealed... and withing a short time there were bugs everywhere which absolutely defied description. The challenge was to design and create a bug or two on a routed panel(s), using Magic Sculpt or other materials at hand. The point was to show just how many creative dimensional solutions we could come up with in a short while... The result was more fun than we've had in a long time.
I'm sure plenty of pictures will soon follow from Yarrow...

I'm still soaking it all in as I sit here overlooking the horse padock, watching the Hazelnuts being harvested in the orchard next door. Happy, voices waft up the stairs from the beehive of activity in the shop. The light is pulling my eyes as the sun peaks out from behind the mountain that sweeps up from the edge of this dreamland. Dan has done it again. My cheeks are sore from smiling, and my brain is overflowing with ideas and inspiration. Grandpaw edited to add... "pictures can be photoshopped and no one saw me do it"

Isn't it just magical Duncan...I've been thinking that there is an eerie quiet coming out of Yarrow so far, it's good to know Dan didn't take you out on one of his "Done At Night" excursions and leave you all on a moutain top or get you escorted out by some authorities while exclaiming, "I was just showing it to them really..I made that you know..honest, I made it!" Could it be that all the shenanigans were played out in typewritten anticipation and now you are all being productive and attentive?? The Letterville masses eagerly await further news..

WOW! I just got home after a 5 hour drive. I want to say thank you to Dan and his family for an incredible event. Every time I think Dan can't top what he did last workshop, he goes and does it bigger and better.
I can assure anyone who is thinking of going to one of Dan's workshops you will have a memory for life.... Nicely done again Dan.

Oh gosh... I can't remember ever laughing as hard as I have today! Yep, that's me wiping continuous tears of laughter from my eyes. This group is quite the magical combination!
It's ending all too soon. Sad to see folks pack up their treasures in bubble wrap and giving hugs goodbye. But the memories are irreplaceable!

Way to go Dan, you are the talk of the town. While at a meet in Cornwall, Canada, a group of attendees were all excited about going to your meet, even the two men from Germany. They are all very lucky that you are doing so much to help them. Bill

Imagine Being so jealous of a quality machine that you have to deface and vanadali8ze someone elses???
This was but the tip of the fierce ROUTER WARS that carried on endlessly in good fun through the weekend.
My cheeks hurt from laughing and the smile will not fade for a long time to come.
I suspect the dog, bug and Pepsi stickers will be around evcen longer!
All smiles in Yarrow...

What Pepsi stickers???? Just a little rebranding, that's all...
Doug's safely ensconced at his brother's house in Seattle, Raymond's been delivered to the airport and his car seat returned to the rental counter, and I just checked into a motel in Sumner. Tomorrow, I plan to drive around Mount Ranier and then catch the midnight special flight back to Dallas. Henry's still in the air.

After taking the red-eye from Seattle overnight and then the long drive home, I arrived safely about 9:30 this morning. A nap was the first order of business, and then here to the studio to check on memories.
It was a once-in-a-lifetime gathering. Later I will write more - probably more than anyone would want to read, but now my brain is frazzled.
Over the coming days you will hear many of the zanny things that took place - fortunately I was there to bring some serious professionalism and decorum to the group or the gathering might have really developed into a idiotic mess.
One thing that was especially impressive was how everyone treated Dan with such honor and respect.

I arrived back home here (tuesday late afternoon eurotime) early yesrerday morning Yarrow Standard Time.
I had a brilliant time in Yarrow, huge, huge thank you to Dan, and Janis for taking care of me,that was very kind, and making the whole trip a huge success.
Meeting up with old faces was great, just like picking up were we left off the last time.
Meeting new faces was just great too from those you've had great respect for in the past like Raymond.....and then seeing their other sides was just too funny.
I learnt to speak french Quebec style and René is getting his english together.
Learnt loads more about Dan and his way of thinking, lots about Enroute, everything gelled really well, it really will live in the memories for a long time to come, even got to get out of Yarrow and Chilliwack for a day and see some of the fantastic BC countryside.
It was great to come home to Ĺsa and the kids, but the time in BC went very fast, I'm looking forward to coming back again, workshop or not.
Thanks again to everyone that made it so much fun!

Raymond's professional demeanor kept us all on track. Without that fine example, things could have really gotten out of hand and Dan wouldn't have been treated with nearly so much honor and respect.
Raymond just builds signs, he doesn't read them.
I'm sure other versions of the following will surface...

I'm glad Jeanne doesn't visit Letterville. But somehow I think the photos may get to her anyway.
To quote an old TV program..."I know nothing".
One good thing about getting older is that you finally reach the point where you don't care what anyone thinks and you can just be yourself. Now, that's a scary thought.

A while back a big expensive car rolled slowly up our driveway, the driver taking in everything he saw. I welcomed him to the studio and gave him a brief tour of our facility. He was impressed and wanted to do business with us.
Just before he left he made a comment that surprised me... "I can see you do what your heart tells you and really don't care what people may think." He meant it in a positive way... and I took it that way too.
Life is too shaort to do otherwise.
There's still a few more photos of Raymond that reveal his fun loving and caring character in Yarrow...
