All things come to an end at some point. I've been at the exit door on a few occasions, this time I'm taking it without hesitation. I gave it a good go. What's in front of me and to what success I'll have, I have no idea. A little scary but very exciting. I'll take the same passion and dedication to my next vocation. It was great to meet some of the talent in the industry on Saturday and view their work close up. I was especially impressed with Bevin's work - it breaths life. It was great to talk to Tramp Warner who is instantly likable. Pierre Tardif's passion for the craft could fill a large room. It was good to see my good freind Rene as usual. I had a great visit with you too Kelly, I hope your path comes into focus. Thanks for the handshake Steve, I'm just getting the feeling back in my hand. I'm looking forward to Dan's workshop and meeting everyone there and getting to know some of the sign people that I've admired for years. What a great way to wrap up a 27 year career in signwork. All the best to everybody, it's been enjoyable, getting to know you letterheads.
It was a pleasure to meet you Steve and Barb. God bless

Well as the saying goes " All things must pass "
Good luck on your new endeavor with the OPP which by the way I have found to be a great organization and very helpful at least that's what I found when I lived in TO

WOW, this is, we all hope, going to be better for you and it's like sad at the same time. I am so glad to have been one of the lucky few to attend your workshop as well being on the list of people you call "FRIENDS"
I'm also fortunate enough to be a part of the last scene as I will be at Dan's to share a few brews and shake your hand once again.
Thanks you for the inspiration, thank you for signing my shop panel, thank you for years of eye candy and the legacy of a high end portfolio to aim for.
And as you're taking your last bow.... take a look at this crowd !

Where did you ever get the idea that you can just leave? Surprise! Letterheads and this website is just like the Mafia. Nobody gets out.
Seriously Shane. Life can toss some unexpected curves our way. Ask me how I know.
You may no longer be in the sign business, but the passion in your work suggests to me that the business of signs was not your first goal anyway. You love to create and this will continue in some form.
Letterheads is about passing on knowledge, and motivating those that follow in our footsteps. You are a teacher my new friend. I hope you continue to share your ideas with us via this Forum.
Letterheads is also about people. We've made Friends that go back to 1983. Some have moved on to other things. Some others have passed on. Each and everyone left a huge impression on many, many people. I'm a better person for knowing them.
Now we just met for the first time yesterday, but I already know you are one of these people. I know many others here in Letterville agree. Stay in touch or I'll have Greer come looking for you.

Wow... don't really know you...but from the outstanding posts you've started and the magnificent projects you've shared - I am surprised you're moving on to other endeavors.....as my impression is that you are a master of this trade.
However, I do understand the yearning to reach for new goals...
Even the things we're best at can become too commonplace at times and a person needs excitement and passion to be happy in what they do. So I understand... and wish you the best of luck and success in whatever you choose to pursue.
Take care and God bless you and your family.

Thanks Steve, You're both perceptive and wise. Your right, I focused on the craft and less on the bottom line. No Regrets. I've been moved by the warm wishes from people I never met. These comrades that share the very same experiences. I'll post my last few jobs that will be going out my door and I'll pop up now and again to keep every one posted on my progress and throw in my two cents where I can. My website with contact info will stay up and I'll try to keep my blog current. I still have one more workshop left. I'll post it when I get a clearer picture what my schedule will be.
If any of you find yourself up this way come visit. It would be great to meet some more of you.
I forgot to mention I really enjoyed meeting Neil and his wife at cosac. I love newfoundlanders. Meeting them both just reinforced that. I hope to see them again when I visit Newfoundland.
Steve, please don't send Steve Greer ...he scares me
Thankyou for your advice on my own project, it's really appreciated. I am still fired up and passionate about the sign industry. I make less money from it than some of my friends who work in the most awful jobs in factories. I know what I'd rather be doing tho!
I hope you find new rewards and enjoyment in your career change. The great thing is you can still be creative in your own time just for fun!
If you're ever in New Zealand, come and stay, or attend one of our fabulous Letterheads meets. We'd love to have you

Again Shane; good luck with everything, and thank you for your admiration in my paintings. Very appreciated.
Oh yeah; if you ever spot a pearl yellow Harley with murals speeding around... feel free to pull me over, but leave the ticket book in the car please... lol

Sorry to see you,,,kinda go away. You've got to do what's important. But you know that this sign stuff is in your blood. And when you go out and about, when you see someone's "new sign", and you don't like it, you'll put your hands on your hips and think to yourself, "What a piece of chit".
