Just wondering, as the seasons are changing...what's everyone listening to at the moment???

Myself, I'm pretty partial to Jim Croce and Harry Chapin during the "changing of the leaves" up here in Upstate New York.

well when the kids were little I recall digging out a couple of soda biscuits and some cheese..........no that was the video tape player

CD player- right now I have a selection of Reiki Music- I like to listen to that sometimes when I work- but I also have Bill Cosby, George Carlin, an assortment of Reggae, Kraftwork, and a whole lot of Rock and Roll!

My taste in CDs is diversified, according to my mood.

Right now it has- "Rush of Fools" and "Big Daddy Weave" I just saw them both in concert last week.

I have been working on a website for a local artist, Kat Hood- kinda folk/Americana singer songwriter, so I have been listening to some of her stuff to get me in the mood for building her site.

Ran across a Canadian group- "High Country" a young Christian Country group that's pretty good.

I listen to a lot of Jam Band music when I'm working on the computer- of course my favorite is "String Cheese Incident" I have about 14 hours of live music to pick from.

I know it sounds bad, but I have found that when I have to do a lot of website coding, I put on Disco music- I think it numbs my brain to the point of wanting to hurry it up and get it finished quickly.

The weather has been absolutely perfect for the past few days and is predicted to be so throughout the weekend . . .
as is usual, I can't listen to music while working because I wont work . . . ESPECIALLY because of the weather . . .
. . . just have to listen to talk radio most of the day . . .

Meanwhile when I am listening to music, it's old folk stuff and some Dylan my sister-in-law and I are bent on learning for material at an upcoming event . . .
there's entirely too many songs I love for me to list here . . .

At the moment I have "Enya ... May it be" in my laptop here in the Hotel in Phuket, Thailand. Just brought it at the markets the other day.

I got 8 new CD's for 500 Bhat, about $18 total = $2.25 each!!. Actually it was only 6 for 500Bh but the extra two were my haggling discount.

But even then I was ripped off!! Fellow traveller got 50 for $1 each!!!! But he was trying to figure how to get them home thru Customs. Evidently they are cracking down on conterfeit imports. I have mine copied to the laptop hard drive just in case.

If I loose my $15 "Rolex" I won't panic.

I'm like Russ..all CD's are now MP3's on my player. Works great in "Mustang Sally".

The older Ford Explorer we bought to take and leave in Mexico has a 6 disc CD player so I dusted em off. They sound Great!

Everything from early Elvis and Buddy Holly, to Stones,to Pink Floyd and on to Kid Rock. Good music is good music no matter what the genre.

Heck, as a self professed and unashamed disliker of country music, I even love "Boot Scootin Boogie"!!!! [Wink]

Been listening to a couple of guitar masters today.. gots me a couple nice playlists in Grooveshark....

Mark Knopfler

and

Joe Satriani

For some of you who don't know.. (I know a lot of you do...) www.grooveshark.com is a great place to find music to listen to....

You can make playlists very easily by just going down the list and clicking the little icon on each song you want to hear. It will then automatically play through your list...

I just burned 5 CD's that are "age appropriate" to be played in my 69 Camaro.

Just picked out 77 songs from my iTunes Library of 4000 songs and burned away.

I started listening to Mark Knopfler back when he was in the Notting Hillbillies. Love the sound of his guitar! My Ipod is playing some Knopfler, some older Dylan, a little Petty with some Damian Marley mixed in. Oh yah, Kaki King and Good Rats on there too...Life couldn't be better!

logged onto iTunes last month, purchased the first Minutemen album. Couldn't believe they had it!! Also picked up an old Peg Boy album, their drummer is great. Burned them to CD and tossed them in the company car. This way my drive to work each morning is awesome. Although my collection of music is mostly the music I've been listening to since the early 80s and up to mid 90s (absolutely NOTHING from American Idol), I have to say, my daughter bought me the latest Pennywise album (old LA band). I went to a couple shows in the mid 90s, love these guys. The new album is fantastic. Once again, great lyrics and wonderful Bass playing. I'm very pleased with the album and I play it quite often on the drive home from work. Between songs I flick on the classic rock radio station for traffic reports, if they are playing David Bowie, Tom Petty or Rush.. I crank it up!

I love music, I'm always humming away to something! If you're really unlucky you get to hear me singing [Smile]

What's a CD player?

The MP3 player's got about 70 hours of music, and it takes about 2 weeks before the main songlist repeats itself.
Linda like having your own radio station and being the programming director, minus the commercials.

Best part...the stereos in the car and truck are compatible and MP3 players don't skip.

CDs are SOOOOO 90s.... [Smile]
