IT IS ON!

Hello All,
You are invited to the SC of A Fall Signmakers Muster. We are holding it at Tannehill State Park in McCalla, Alabama the Weekend of Nov 21st - 23rd. We will be having several workshops dealing with the OLD way of doing things. From Glass Chipping to Mural Painting we will have it here. It would be a great eye opener for vinyl-only shops and a chance to "brush up" for the guys who have done it before.
More than anything it will be a chance to meet other signmakers from across the South and North as well. (Rebs and Yanks Welcome) There will be stories swapped and a ton of BBQ and Fried Catfish Eaten. Come join in on the fun!
Your registration gets you materials for all workshops, a great looking t-shirt, Eat like a pig all weekend, and some great memories to get you through the hard times back at the shop. Attendees are urged to camp at the Park. Tannehill has Wonderful Cabins, Great RV Spots and Fantastic Primitive Camping. There are certainly hotels in the area for the less adventurous. Please contact us for more lodging info.
We hope to see many of you there this Fall.
If I can answer any questions at all please contact me.

Lee, when this was first mentioned, I said I'd likely attend. Sorry, I have a 10000 mile road trip on in September so I'll not be there.
I was so looking forward to it .

When my pals and I are commenting/griping/whining/complaining about the
obvious needed things people commonly do'nt do or mention, like customers for example, someone will invariabley ask 'Why'd did'nt they tell you something?"
One guys always cracks us up:
"'Due to lack of interest' . . .", he blandly replies.

Well. We think it's funny . . . [Roll Eyes]

ANY-WAY . . . . . .
I would ASSUME (ass-u-me) everyone has heard of the changes regarding this meet, but, I am a very un-assuming person . . . .

And I am QUITE logical-minded and therefore, can be confused when things occur which make absolutely no sense . . . like, for example . . .

How-come-ain't-nobody in charge answered any of the various questions asked on this thread or given a written explanitory comment HERE, on THIS thread about the changes?

I'm just sayin' it would be logical iz'all . . .

Meanwhile, in all fairness, I DID receive a nice, personal voice-mail, but since I'm very unassuming, I will not assume everyone got a call, or has heard their voice message yet, so, in the name of logic and non-assumptions . . .
[For Your Information] My message from Lee McKee stated:

"The meet location remains the same, but will
be a one-day-only, all-day meet, free to all, on Saturday, Nov.22"

Thank you.
This ends the public service announcement. Should there be changes and updates in these conditions you will be notified by a series of funny sounding beeps followed by a monotone voice detailing the changes and preparations you should make in case of changes and updates.

Hello All,
The Dixie meet was moved by vote to the spring because of last minute conficts with our workshop presenters and over all bad economy (means nobody has any money) The people that bothered to pre-register where alerted as soon as the problems were appearant. Since nobody on this board bothered to pre-register it was not neccesary to post it here.
That being said.... A few of the people that rented cabins in the State Park for the weekend wanted to come anyway so we got together and made a few panels, played a little guitar and, ate some killer food. It was a Great weekend all around and with family included we had twenty people!
Thanks for coming out Sheila and I'm glad you got my voicemail invitation. Make sure you pre-register for that Spring Dixie Meet....

Thanx for a lovely afternoon!

It was awesome to see Mark again; I really enjoyed the music, man! not to mention how much I love your work.

And it was great to see Donald and his entire family! Donald, thank you agian for the georgeous mug and glass coaster. We were wondering if the mug was lead-crystal? It's very heavy.
It was wonderful to meet Kyme and find out it was her very first meet! Keep them brushes out g'ul!!

I was awesome to meet Lee and His family and Ryan and his family! These are two very talented guys and have great Letterhead spirits!
Lee thank you again for lettin' me use your brushes!!!

Ryan thanx again for the cute panel. Since you gave me that one, I think I'll make you one that says 'fore' . . . [Razz]

Tannehill has changed some since I was last there. There is a new little 'general store', and a new restaurant. A new visitor center and pavillion. It's going to be a great venue for a meet in the spring. As always, it's still a very beautiful park, and still maintains the historical iron works and museum.

The meet on Saturday was held in the school house. This building is known to be the first school in Jefferson County Alabama, and was built in 1830. It was disassembled and moved to the Tannehill Park. It has an added-on kitchen, and recently added restrooms, and central heat & air.
There are pic-nic tables outside all around the building and plenty of out-door room to hang out and paint. I can definitely see a few easels and a band set up . . . [Razz]

The room we would use would be maxed out with fifty 'heads, but some tables could be moved out of the room and easels placed, so no biggie.
I think it's gonna be a lot of fun in the spring. I'm definitely gonna be there!

It was alot of fun for our family.
It was great to meet Mark Fair, Sam Sanfilippo, Kymi Hum, David Ray, and Lee. It was great to see Sheila again. She has such an infectious personality and the volume level always changes when she is around. The park is a neat place to hang out. Hopefully it won't be 22 degrees in the spring. Thanks to Lee and Jen for all that you guys did.
