I have to quote for making some 18" cut-out letters with a brushed silver face and a thickness of around 1". I was thinking of using Rowmark type engraving material to give the face effect (or maybe Dibond?) and laminating it to... what?... to give the thickness factor. Considering 1" PVC or maybe Extira - probably painted black - any other suggestions? These will be stud mounted so the weight is a consideration...

I assume these are for indoor use Graham. I'd use Brushed Octalux metal laminate on 1" Gatorfoam. Rowmark, I believe only comes in 2'x4' sheets.

Octolux does come in a brushed silver finish suitable for outdoor use. You need to specify that. Gatorfoam is good outdoors as long as the edges are painted. The trick is finding the right adhesive that is suitable for outdoors. Contact Cement isn't. Maybe magic smooth or epoxy might work. I am testing an adhesive tape right now, but I haven't come to any conclusions yet.

Just a note of reference. Gemini does offer laminated letters now and we do warrant them for outdoor use. They are made from acrylic with the laminated metal faces.
Our fabricated letters would also be an excellent choice.
