Proof of how our trade never corrects itself...
In a piece printed in our local paper today...a local biz owner proudly discusses the success of his company from day one til now starting in a 100 square foot garage and now located in a 20,000 square foot facility.
Obviously they are doing something right as they have become one of the largest (if not the largest) shirt printer and embroidery outfit in town. By the way I think thats wonderful...
Then came this statement...(paraphrasing here).
"We now offer digital printing and can provide full color images for the same cost as a plain white banner with block lettering".
Oh well!

This is when you stick to your guns and charge what they're worth anyway. You might be surprised at how many people will pick quality over price.

He must be doing something right, then again he may be living on the financial edge. It's a fact of life that automation brings costs down...my first pocket calculator (30 years ago)cost $150, my first CD changer (20 years ago)was $700, now that calculator is $15 the CD changer $89, banner printing is a commodity...banner design is another thing, that is where the skill is, and hopefully the money too.
