and I just don't hear alot of hoopla about it locally. He IMO was one of the smartest men around. everything he said made sense. I love his attacks on religion and politics. 2 of the most illest subjects alive today.

he will be missed. always brought a smile to my face

I also think he was awesome and insightful!
I remember the whole family roaring to the album
"Class Clown"..... "I'll wash your mouth out with soap!...... 'I'll blow bubbles out my ass!"

I have re-read his book, "Brain Droppings" at least four or five times. It never ceases to make me laugh...

I know the seven words you can't say on TV... do you? LOL! I know Geet does... Hahahahahahaha!

George Carlin was one of the smartest men alive; he not only dared to challenge the unspoken subjects, but he managed to communicate his views in a comical way.
Intelligence=communication

He certainly took a lot of guff for his manners, but got a lot of attention doing so and got his messages across..
seeing him in person in his recent years also showed a more gentle and caring concern for his fellow human beings, and yes, you would have to decipher between the cuss words if they were offensive, but when one would understand what he was trying to say, they sort of disappeared into the background.
He was too young to go.

Really enjoyed the guys comedy all my life. I actually enjoyed his brand of humor and can recite many of his bits. I thought the dude was surprisingly deep. I grew up with him and his ALBUMS... RIP George.....

I was pretty young when I got my hands on Carlin's "Class Clown" album. Maybe 12 years old. I recall how everyone memorized it and it was almost a contest of who could say it the fastest on the school bus as we rode to school, but I was always more amazed at how smoothly he could take a few words and just turn them into an entire routine that would have my eyes watering from laughing so hard.

"Baseball versus Football" was classic Carlin. It not only took a jab at how we use words, but at the way it affects or perceptions, and how truly gifted he was at seeing the truth behind words.

He was my favorite, not because he could make me laugh, but because he often made me think twice.

I doubt that there has been a comedian who didn't shed a tear for George Carlin today. His work paved the way for all of them.

Did the album cover have him sitting on a stool with a dunce cap on?

I'm also going to miss him. He was one of the most insigntful persons alive.

Two years ago I went to one of his stand up presentations. He was giving em hell as only George could do. Right in the middle of his rage against conservatives, someone pulled the fire alarm. Once re-set it was pulled again until we gave up and went home.

There isn't another fellow, like him, standing in the wings ready to take over.

Good by my dear old friend.
