Unlucky? Friday 13th is actually safer

Unlucky for some? Dutch statisticians have established that Friday 13th, a date regarded in many countries as inauspicious, is actually safer than an average Friday.

A study published on Thursday by the Dutch Centre for Insurance Statistics (CVS) showed that fewer accidents and reports of fire and theft occur when the 13th of the month falls on a Friday than on other Fridays.

Some of my best, most enjoyable days have been on Friday the 13th! I agree with the Dutch.

Friday 13th was "Lucky" for my wife Sue this year!!!!!!!!

First Sue collected $165 on a Lotto win. So she brought an "Instant Sratch-it Ticket" and won another $12.

Small beans .... BUT .... gets home and a message from our Solicitors that providing she fronts with a photo ID next Wednesday the inheritance from her Aunt is go! Not sure how much but it starts at 5 figures!!!!

I had a good day too workwise. In fact, thinking about it the wasn't one hassle all day!

So what's with BLACK FRIDAY?

Let's see,

So far today:

I burnt my bagel this morning.

Spilled a large can of mineral spirits.

Crushed the cord on my hammer drill under a piece of equipment.

Hmmmm, so far so good.

I could live with that.

Peace,
Bob

I should have known better than dig a couple sign post holes on Friday the 13th. Called Sunshine Locators like is required, they come and mark the lines. I stay at least 24" away from the marks, but dead center a 100 pair telephone line in one hole and clip a 300 pair line in the other, cutting about half the wires in it... both were at least 36" away from the markings.

Five telephone trucks and a few hours later, it's all fixed, but now I have to completely relocate the sign. Fortunately the Locator company will be footing the bill since they missed both lines... but all day has been wasted and I'm back to square one.

Been there ... done that Jon!

Installing a sign in a park. Got everyone from the Council CEO to the groundsman watching.

Where do you want it? Here ... after a committee like conference. Sure here? What about the water pipe to those garden bed sprinklers 100 yards away? It's way over there, we want the sign HERE!

Result looked like "Old Faithfull". I could not have hit that poly pipe more square.

Jon, if you'd gotten some of Roy's pre dug postholes and used Mark Fair's posthole calculator, this wouldn't have happened, today or any other day.

My best friend was born on Friday the 13th so he's always considered it his lucky day, like Bill. I called him this morning and said - I've decided it's going to be a good day today for me too.

Boy was I ever wrong. Things started out okay and went rapidly and extraordinarily downhill. I've put on my pjs and I'm on my bed watching tv...I figure nothing much else can go wrong here.

David, you mix up ingredients as powerful as Pre-made Post-holes, Jantz Luck, Murphy's Law, and Friday the 13th.... there would have ended up being a crater and you'd be seeing it on the news tonight.

Jon, I forgot. You were the one trying to install the sign in Daisetta, Texas a month back and caused that large sinkhole.

Don't buy those cheap Chinese knock off postholes again, get the real Made in the U.S.A. versions from Roy Frisby (of course, you have to handle them with care since they come from Arkansas).

I got stung 6 times by an enraged group of yellow jackets, who happened to be at the very spot I was trying to work on Friday, late afternoon, trying to catch up on missing work M,T, part of W, because I wrecked my Motorcycle last Sunday (blacked out from dehydration doing about 45, hit a tree)(never had that happen before in 10 years of riding).... try to top THAT BAD LUCK!
