I'm amazed that 40 years after they broke up, the Beatles remain universally popular and still command a big presence in Liverpool. Peggy was working a flight to Manchester on Tuesday and invited me to go along - we had hoped to get together with Terry and Bridget Colley (hosts of the Bull & Brush Letterhead Meet in 2000) and hoist a few pints, but they were in Dublin visiting their daughter, so we decided to hop a train to Liverpool and do a tour of the Beatles' old stomping grounds.
We saw the boyhood homes of John, Paul, George and Ringo, as well as Freddie Mercury and some places that were familiar thru their music. We ended up at the Cavern, where they were "discovered" and went on to change the world.
When I do these trips with Peggy, we're only there for less than a day, but we always manage to pack a lot in for the time we have. It's a great perk of her job, and certainly something I'd never be able to do otherwise (in case anybody thought I was making big bucks in the sign biz)

Pretty cool, My daughter and her friend were trying to get their picture taken in the famous Abby Road Location when someone volunteered to take their picture. Then ran off with her camera.
