Bobbie, check out the Summa D-60 before buying anything; I highly recommend it.

They outperform some of the other big names in many ways.
Best thing I can tell you is to do the research and learn for yourself. Pick lots of brains on this and you wont regret your decision later.
Instead of asking what someone likes, ask people what they dislike about their machine or the shortcomings. I think then you can try to compare specs better and see the realities of each model and make.

and be sure to check out the APD cutters. I have not personally observed one.. But I chatted with a few who do and they say they are really nice machines.

Thank you, all of you. My husband insists on a Graphtec, but our Anangraph has been good & cuts our sandblast so well, he said we will get it fixed and also buy as Graphtec. This way we will not be out if this happens again.
By the way, how can I find out if it is compatable with my Signlab?

Any of them are compatible with Signlab; just install the driver you need.

I have the SignWarehouse version of it, Bobbie. I like it fine. It's only a couple of months old, but it does a nice job. There are a lot of gooder, read that "more expensive" plotters out there, but for the money, you can't beat them.
Just the other day I cut out some stuff for a couple sets of mags, with American flags on them. The stars were around an an eighth of an inch tall. It cut 'em out fine, and they weeded fine. I couldn't believe it. Only problem, for me, is it won't do pounce patterns. But we deal with it.

I spoke to the Anagraph people, it will cost me $300 alone in labor, then $395 if it is the main board, but they will not touch it until I tell them ok. BUT...I am in PA & they are in California, & the last time I sent this baby all the way out there, it cost me over $60 in shipping. That was over 5 yrs. ago I think, or right around there.
They do have one more option....I trade mine in getting $500 toward a newer one. The cheapest one they sell is around $1400, which would knock it down to around $900. I am not big like many of you, I am very small (happily so!)& cannot afford anything big.

ps...Dale, just read your line at the bottom. Thank you, I needed to be reminded of that!
Last week I hurt my back real bad & was out of commission all week. As a matter of fact, soon as I hurt my back, my business (I was totally swamped up to that point)STOPPED DEAD. The Lord knows when we need a rest! But soon as I got my first job, my plotter messes up. Every time these things happen, it is for a reason. It will be ok.
That is ok, I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me!

Hi, Bobbie... I'll sell you my Demo machine.. It's a G'phtec FC7000-75 I haven't done any demos in a while, as you can appreciate The machine has never been in a production environment, is at a reasonable firmware level, has no stand, is not under warranty, but is extremely reliable...as most Graphtecs are...and cuts vinyl and lots of other stuff like crazy. I'll include the manuals including the service manual; cables, CB-09 holder and knife. A mere $1700 plus shipping, and it's yours.
High Regards, Bobbie, howard

Obviously, Bobbie, the choice is yours. I chose SignWarehouse because the people were very friendly, and the tech man not only knew the machine, but knew Flexisign inside and out. He guided me step by step thru removing my old plotter and installing the new one...got me thru a couple of glitches too.
I had dealt with another company for a Graphtek; it had to ship from Cali, and took over a week. I was swamped, called SignWarehouse, and had the plotter in 2 days. Meantime, the Graphtek came...same box, same appearance....just $550 more. I sent it back. I asked the man at SW about it, and he told me Graphtek makes all their plotters. You just don't have to pay for the name. Think mine was around 1200.
I will pray that your back problems disappear, and that you may not suffer from them anymore.

I have an APD and the engineer at APD said that they used to be Anagraph. He was very helpful, and he helped design the unit I have. That's pretty good service. I bought mine because it was tougher and had more capability than the others. It will cut sand mask and you can even get an engraving attachment for it. I do only need it occasionally so I can't offer a real good consensus on it.

I have a Graphtec FC2100-60A desktop model that has traveled around with me for over 12 years and performed on convention floors and in hotels and now it lives an easy life making occasional decals and vehicle graphics for my home business. Never, not once has it had to be repaired or even contact support till this week... and it's not the Graphtec's fault. I'm having trouble getting my new computer to recognize the Graphtec and so I'm thinking of upgrading to the CE5000-60, too, and selling the FC2100-60, although if I hadn't run into the new computer glitch, I'd keep it.

OR you could buy a 24" Roland PNC 960 with a dongled version of Vinyl Master Pro for $600. FROM ME! It would pay for itself with the very first job.
