I had a '46 many moons ago, bought as a basket case. Put a 225 Buick V-6 in it and had lots of fun for several years...good trail rider. That V-6 has a lot of torque.
I drove mine in the summer with no top and no windshield. Like ridin' a motorcycle, but with a roll bar around you. Lots of bugs in the teeth!
I've been enjoying the pictures you've posted of work also. Beautiful stuff! One day, maybe I'll figure out how to post also.

I must have missed earlier posts about this. I take it it is a WILLYS. When my husband and I were first married and didn't have much money, he bought me a Willys for a second vehicle. We had so much fun in that thing....until winter. It had holes all over the fabric that he patched and I can't remember if it had a heater, if it worked or what. All I remember is that I was always cold and had to wear my snowmobile suit and boots. But we had a ball 4-wheeling thru our local State Game area.

Yeah, Laura, when I had my 2-A up in Ohio, winters were cold also. It didn't have a heater when I put it together. I bought an 'add-on' from JC Whitney. It did a fair job of keeping the chill off, but did little to defrost the windshield and side windows. It was pretty primitive, but still fun.
We used to like to take rides thru the country after a good snow, just to enjoy the pristine beauty, and "go where no man has gone", making fresh tracks. There was one area we went to that the trail took us out onto a bluff area, overlooking the Ohio river valley. It was very cool.
I bought seats out of a Ford van for it, because they were buckets, but had good padding to compensate for the harsh ride of the Jeep. You gotta have a few creature comforts.
